Privacy Policy.

We handle your information the way we would want ours handled — carefully, respectfully, and only for the reasons we tell you about.

Gathering Israel (“Gathering Israel,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use this website or interact with our outreach, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Gathering Israel is not owned, operated, sponsored, approved, or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Information you share with us is not shared with the Church unless you specifically ask us to help connect you with missionaries or other official Church resources.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us directly

  • Contact information you provide when you email us, subscribe to updates, or fill out a form — typically your name, email, and anything you choose to write.
  • Donation information collected by our payment processor when you give — name, email, billing address, and the amount of your gift. We do not see or store your full credit card number.
  • Missionary contact requests — when you ask us to help you connect with full-time missionaries, we collect the details needed to pass your request through official Church channels.

Information collected automatically

  • Log data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, and timestamps — standard server logs.
  • Cookies and similar technologies for site functionality, analytics, and outreach — see Cookie Settings for details and opt-out controls.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide and operate this website.
  • To respond to your questions, messages, and requests.
  • To process donations, send receipts, and communicate about your gift.
  • To pass missionary contact requests through official Church channels only when you ask us to.
  • To send updates you’ve opted into (you can unsubscribe anytime).
  • To measure and improve our outreach, understand which content is helpful, and plan future work.
  • To comply with applicable laws and legal requests.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the nonprofit and only with parties who are contractually bound to protect it:

  • Service providers — payment processors, email delivery, hosting, analytics, advertising platforms, and similar vendors, acting on our behalf.
  • Missionary contact requests — when you ask us to, we pass the information you’ve agreed to share through official Church channels so missionaries can reach you.
  • Legal reasons — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of our operations.
  • Organizational changes — if Gathering Israel ever merges with, is acquired by, or transfers assets to another organization, your information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

4. Advertising and analytics

We use analytics tools (for example, privacy-aware web analytics) and digital advertising platforms (for example, Meta, Google, YouTube) to understand who we reach and to place faith-promoting content in front of people who may be searching for answers about Jesus Christ. These partners may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies on this site. You can control these through our Cookie Settings page, your browser settings, or the opt-out tools of each platform.

5. Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe from email updates anytime via the link in each email.
  • Access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@gatheringisrael.org.
  • Opt out of analytics and marketing cookies via Cookie Settings.
  • Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK, California), you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA — including the right to request a copy of your data, object to certain processing, or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact us and we’ll help.

6. How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information transmitted over the internet is invulnerable. If we learn of a security incident affecting your information, we’ll notify you as required by applicable law.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above, to comply with legal and donor-record obligations, and to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.

8. Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International users

Gathering Israel is based in the United States and our service providers may process information in the U.S. and other countries. If you are in a region with data-transfer rules, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States (or other jurisdictions where our providers operate) by using this site and providing your information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the site after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
